Hey hey! It’s us!

If you’re new around here, hi we’re Patrick and Alayna! If you’ve been following us for a while, hi we’re still here!

2023 has been off to kind of a strange start in our world. Another season of in between. We’ve had some highlights, like finally getting to go on some COVID postponed personal trips, scroll to check those out! But mostly we’ve been quietly grinding behind the scenes finishing up our work from last season and preparing for what’s to come. With the level of work we have come to expect from ourselves that has taken longer than we expected or hoped in this off season.

Real talk, our life together has pretty much been nonstop transition since we met in 2018. Each time we think we are getting to a point where things will settle down and we can just have ‘normal’ for a bit something else shifts or changes. Most of these have been good or inevitable changes, but if we’re honest it’s been exhausting and such a drain on our creative energy.

We are so looking forward to settling back in the Mitten State, getting our groove back, and having a little more space and breathing room in 2023 for ourselves, our clients, and pursuing things that light us up! We appreciate you supporting us and following along on our journey!

One thing I (Alayna) love about this time of the year is that while Patrick is wrapping up our last few films I have some time to get creative. I love going back to old shoots and giving them updated edits.

We are always growing and learning and becoming better at our craft so seeing how current us might approach something completely differently than us 2 or 3 or more years ago may have is encouraging. Not only does it make the ways we have changed and evolved evident it makes us so excited for all the epic things coming our way this year!

REVERSE FIRST LOOK!

Patrick has known Brittany and Ryan since college and not only that, she was our photographer at our own wedding. So when they asked us if we would capture their wedding day it felt like a beautiful full circle moment. You can tell these two have loved each other for quite some time and it was beautiful to witness the start of their official forever together as husband and wife. This day was full of laughs, tears, the sweetest vows and heartfelt moments as well as a rousing celebration spent among friends and family. We often feel like we leave wedding days with new friends, but we loved walking into this one feeling already among them.

When we say this is our FAVORITE part of our job, we MEAN IT!

In most of our wedding video collections we include a story session, which is a time outside of your wedding (usually before) where we get to hang out, get to know you better, and do whatever feels like you! Basically third wheeling your ideal day date, with cameras.

We know that sounds intimidating, but we promise it’s precisely the opposite. These sessions are the most chill, full of the best conversations, and truly so life giving for us who thrive on personal connection. Not only that, but hanging out with us in front of cameras ahead of time in a low stress environment makes it so you aren’t feeling that for the first time on your wedding day. It’s a win win for all of us!

We’ve done everything with our couples from just having a slow morning at home, visiting your favorite or meaningful places, getting out on the water, hanging out with your pups, or getting dressed up and hitting the town. The sky is the limit here! But more than anything we want it to be something that fits you and your relationship. It’s not about doing the vibey-est, trendiest, things for the imagery, but rather bottling up the parts of your fleeting season of engagement you’ll want to look back and remember fondly 10, 20 years down the road.

We want you to know that your story is SO special, the circumstances that brought you together are one of a kind. Even if you’re a dating app success story like us, we mean it! And that story deserves to be told and celebrated.
